How Do I Adjust The Brightness Of My Screen In Mac OS X?

Question:

My screen of my Mac is way too dark in low-light situations, how do I brighten it?

Answer:

The first option for adjusting screen brightness is to use the Displays panel in System Preferences in Mac OS X or macOS. Most Macs will also let you adjust screen brightness by pushing the F1 or F2 keys (these are replaced by the built-in brightness keys next to the ESC key on a Touch Bar).

You can also precisely adjust the brightness by holding Option and Shift while pushing the brightness keys. This will allow 64 different brightness options instead of the standard 16.
