How Do I Turn Off Dictation In OS X?

I keep initiating Dictation when I don't want it, how can I disable it on my MacBook Pro?

Answer:
Go to System Preferences (you can find it in the Apple menu at the top left corner of your screen) in macOS or OS X and select the Dictation & Speech panel. You will see an option to turn Dictation off. You can also disable the shortcut for Dictation or change it to another key combination if you are accidentally triggering it.
If the Dictation & Speech panel does not exist in your System Preferences, click on the Keyboard panel instead. Select the Dictation tab and then switch Dictation to the off position.
