Where Is The Power Button On The MacBook Air?

Question:

Why isn't there a power button on my MacBook Air?
- Asked by Tony P. May 28th, 2012 (Updated: March 5th, 2019)

Answer:

The MacBook Air was the first modern Mac laptop to be introduced that did not have a SuperDrive (internal optical drive). As such, it no longer needed an eject key. The power button can instead be found in place of the eject key at the top right of the keyboard.

This same pattern continues in other modern Mac laptops like the 12-inch MacBook and the MacBook Pro.
