Answer:
If you are using HDMI output to an HDTV, you might need to adjust the HDMI Output settings. Go to Settings > Audio & Video on your Apple TV and highlight HDMI Output. Tap the select button to scroll through the possible options until you find the one that fixes the color for your HDTV.
