Can I Upgrade The MacBook Air To 16GB Of RAM?

Question:

Is it possible to have 16GB of RAM in the MacBook Air?
- Asked by Heather A. April 5th, 2012

Answer:

As of this writing, you cannot upgrade the RAM in the MacBook Air. MacBook Air memory is soldered to the motherboard, so it cannot be modified after purchase. You can, however, upgrade the MacBook Pro to use 16GB of RAM even though it's not officially supported by Apple (the MacBook Pro Retina Display is the exception - it currently has a 16GB built-to-order option).
