How Do I Copy Files From Another Mac?

Answer:

It's easy to transfer files between two Macs using FireWire Target Disk Mode.

First, turn off the computer that is storing the files you want and make sure the other computer is booted up. Connect the two computers with a FireWire cable. Then turn the first computer back on while holding down the "T" key on its keyboard.

After a few seconds you will see a FireWire icon - it's safe to let go of the "T" key at this point. You should now see the first computer appear as an external hard drive on the desktop of the second computer.

When you are done copying files, simply drag the hard drive icon to the trash can to eject the disk. You can then turn off the first computer and disconnect the FireWire cable.
