How Do I Enable Or Disable The Firewall In Mac OS X?

Question:

How do I turn on a firewall in Mac OS X?
- Asked by Owen W. April 12th, 2011 (Updated: December 9th, 2014)

Answer:

The Firewall preferences in Mac OS X Snow Leopard can be edited by going to System Preferences->Security and clicking on the Firewall tab. You might have to click the lock at the bottom left of the window to make changes to your Firewall settings, but after that enabling and disabling the firewall is pretty straightforward.
