How Do I Fix An iPad With Sound That Isn't Working?

Answer:

First, make sure you haven't accidentally muted the iPad. To check, try flipping the side switch (it's the one pictured below):

If your side switch is not set to the mute position, try pushing the volume up button on the side of the device.

As an alternative, you can access the volume controls from the Control Center. For iOS devices that do not have a home button, you can access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. Users of an iPad or iPhone with a home button can access the Control Center by swiping up from just below the bottom edge of the screen. Once in the Control Center, look for the volume slider and slide it up.

If the sound is still not working make sure your iPad is updated to the newest version. Go to Settings and navigate to General > Software Update to check if you are using the latest version. Update if possible. If that doesn't help, restart the iPad by going to Settings > General > Shut Down. Additionally, you could also try resetting the iPad by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
