Start out by visiting the Genius Bar site. Select your local Apple Store from the Genius Bar Reservations drop-down. You must then select the nature of your visit - Mac, iPad, etc. Finally, you will be presented with a list of available appointment times for the next several days. Select a date, fill in your contact info, and be sure to arrive early for your appointment. Upon arrival at the Apple Store, walk to the Genius Bar and check-in for your appointment.

A few tips before visiting: it is recommended that you update all the software on your device and also backup your device in case it needs to be erased for any reason. And remember, anyone can make a Genius Bar appointment. It doesn't matter if you didn't buy your Apple product from the Apple Store.
