Answer:
Open System Preferences in OS X and select the Users & Groups panel. Make sure your current user is selected in the left-hand column and then click on the Login Items tab. Click on the plus sign at the bottom of the window and then add whichever app you would like to be opened at startup. You can also delete apps from opening at startup in this same window.
