The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the 10W USB power adapter that is included with the iPad. Charging your iPad via USB on your Mac or PC does work, but it will not charge as fast. The same is true for the iPhone and iPod touch. If you do decide to charge via USB on your Mac or PC, make sure to put your iPad to sleep - you cannot be using it for it charge. Also make sure the Mac or PC is not asleep or turned off.
