Can I stop the red badges from showing in my dock when I have a notification?

Answer:
Open System Preferences on your Mac and go to the Notifications panel. You have to disable badge app icons for each offending app individually. Start in the left sidebar and click on the first app that uses badges. Uncheck the options that reads "Badge app icon". Repeat this step for each app that uses badges on your Mac.
